ABOUT THE COMIC BOOK PROJECT The Comic Book Project engages children in a creative process leading to literacy reinforcement, social awareness, and character development, then publishes and distributes their work for other children in the community to use as learning and motivational tools.
Carmen M Colon, co-founder and former Executive Director of the Association of New York City Education Councils is working in collaboration with NYS elected official State Senator Velmanette Montgomery to bring the "ComicBook Project" and the "Youth Music Exchange" to as many middle school males of color as possible in NYC for a special project on bridging the achievement gap for young boys.

is a 14-week theater education and performance program for youth between the ages of seven and thirteen, and is focused towards children and audiences of the Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Bedford-Stuvesant and surrounding neighborhoods in Brooklyn.
Integral to QIIQ is the encouragement of multicultural thinking amongst students. The program is designed for children of all colors to explore their perception of the world on the stage and in their own neighborhood. Additionally, visiting theaters and meeting professional artists are important features of the program. Guest actors or trips will be offered for students who wish to meet actors and see theater from a backstage point of view.

ABOUT JENNIFER DAVIS
Jennifer Davis is a resident of Fort Greene and has been involved with community-based theaters for over ten years. She received a Masters Degree in Performing Arts Administration from New York University and currently works as a teaching artist for drama and writing at PS 41 and Goddard Riverside Community Center. She has worked for a variety of arts organizations throughout the city including 651ARTS, Ballet Hispanico, NYFA, and BAM, and has tutored students in the public schools of Brooklyn and the Bronx.
